Child Rights Advocacy and Training

The key solution to child abuse is prevention through advocacy, outreach and awareness.
To counter-act child abuse in Vietnam, we have worked with international NGOs and education institutes to produce some of Vietnam’s first ToT (Training of Trainers) workshops on child rights.

We have a core group of 12 instructors that train participants how to understand and facilitate knowledge on Child Sexual Abuse and Social/Emotional Learning.

Participants return to teach children and adults in their network and thereby spread the awareness of children's rights across South Vietnam.

All spoken and written training materials are in Vietnamese.

1. Child Sexual Abuse Prevention (CSAP)

Aims: The course is intended not only to increase knowledge, but more so, to change attitudes surrounding the issue of child sexual abuse through targeted discussions.
Taking a right-based approach to children, the course focusses on the prevention of Incest, Pedophilia and Sex Trafficking. Courses can be tailored to specific needs and cover an overview of all three or an in-depth study of one topic only.

Target Participants: social workers, teachers, policy makers, local government officials, Women's Unionists, and everyone working with disadvantaged children.

Learning Outcomes: After theory and group discussions participants will be able to define child sexual abuse, its forms, the dynamics involved and what to do in the case of children’s disclosure.
We also add training on facilitation skills, and how to use the animations for facilitating CSAP sessions for adults and children.

Course Fee: 1,000,000VND per person including 6 hours training, and 3 take-home training sets (teachers' book, students' book and DVD) each topic.
