CAPACITY-BUILDINGLittle Rose Shelter is a home in Saigon for vulnerable girls aged 8-18 which we have supported with grants, advocacy, staff training and strategic planning since 2005.
On an everyday basis, the Little Rose Shelter is a refuge – we work with social workers and the police to identify girls who have been trafficked, experienced incest, rape or paedophilia or are living in circumstances where they might fall prey to these. Our 6 counsellors and teachers assess the girls’ specific needs and ensure that safety and individual progress is at the focus of their development. Achievements: - since 2005, more than 300 girls have been through the programme. |

VOCATIONAL TRAINING
Access to relevant education is essential to help young people to fulfil their potential. Social-Professional Integration is our programme that provides young people from Saigon’s shelters with career counselling, life skills, study fees, and work placements.
Since 2008, we have seen more than 100 through the SPI. |
CHILD RIGHTS ADVOCACYA key solution to child abuse is prevention through advocacy, outreach and awareness.
We have - in partnership with the Danish Special-pedagogical Publishing Company and the Philippino based Stairway Foundation – developed some of Vietnam’s first and best teaching materials on Social and Emotional Learning and Child Sexual Abuse Prevention for teachers, parents and social workers. We have a core group of 12 instructors that train participants in conducting successful workshops about sexual abuse or emotional difficulties. Participants will return to to teach children in their locality how to protect themselves from abuse. Contact us to book a work-shop – all proceeds go back to supporting the girls at Little Rose Warm Shelter. |
